 ·                    Route #2 from Monroe Avenue to Russell Avenue, Re-routing traffic due to street flooding  (1605 – 1945) E-107/R-   104/E-109

 ·                    54 Orchard Drive, Lines Down / Tree Down / Smell of Gas, (1726 – 1800) No damage to structure or gas meter, Allegheny Power notified for line repairs, tree clear of the roadway, house and driveway (E-107)

 ·                     East Thistle Drive, Tree Down.  Roadway clear, no damage (1812-1830) (E-107)

 ·                    Route #7 at Laurel Point Turn, Flooding / Road Blocked.  (1840 – 1957) (E-107)  Road was blocked by extensive flooding, roadway traffic blocked and re-routed by WV DOH at Route #7 / #20 Intersection.

 ·                    Railroad underpass at Proctor Park, car in the water.  Woman rescued from waste-deep water, car recovered from the water by Engine-109’s winch.  Rescued 7 additional persons from Proctor Park, abandoned 3-vehicles in Park, Ohio River rising quickly.  (0140 – 0256) (L-103, E-109, Boat-1)

 ·                    Route #7 near Roberta Robinsons farm, Man in the water. (E-109 & WCSO) responded found no one in the water, Donald Blake (caller) on scene reported that the apparently intoxicated man walked back out of the water to safety (Water roughly 3-feet deep).  (0235 – 0314)

 ·                    Route #20 at Slim Chance Hill, 2-vehicles in the water, found nothing / checked all visible area from Slim Chance to 4-H grounds with no visible vehicles or persons in the water. (0333-0418) (E-109 & E-107, Boat-1 & Zodiac Boat)

 ·                    420 Foundry Street, Water around residence, occupants needing rescued.  (E-109 & E-107, Boat –1 & Zodiac Boat)  3-Residents were assisted from residence on foot in waste deep standing water to safety. (0319 – 0340)

   ·                    Route #7 Talkington Residence, ½ mile east of Route #7 & 20 Intersection, 3-Persons stranded in Octagon House.  (Boat #1, Zodiac Boat, E-107, E-109, WCSO #5) (0558 –0823) Used 2-boats and commandeered 1-pickup truck to accomplish rescue of 2-youth and 1-adult from the structure.

 ·                    411 Foundry Street, Water around residence, occupants needing rescued.  (E-109 & E-107, Boat –1 & Zodiac Boat)  5-Residents were assisted from residence on foot in waste deep standing water to safety. (0737 – 0840)

 ·                    416 Foundry Street, Water around residence, occupants needing rescued.  (E-109 & E-107, Boat –1 & Zodiac Boat)  3-Residents were assisted from residence on foot in waste deep standing water to safety. (0918 – 1020)

 ·                    Elm Street @ Cherry Lane, Vehicle in the water with 2-occupants.  (E-107 / E-109)  (0935 – 0937 – 0941 – 0953).  Retrieved auto from water with 2-occupants using the winch on E-109 to Safety.

 ·                    405 Foundry Street, Welfare Check, Water around residence, occupants possibly needing rescued.  (E-109 & E-107, Boat –1 & Zodiac Boat)  2-Residents refused to be evacuated to safety. (1020-1035)

 ·                    111 Commercial Street, Water around residence, occupant needing rescued.  (E-109 & E-107, Boat –1)  1-Resident was assisted from residence by boat to safety. (1056 – 1137)

 ·                    Former Ames Parking Lot @ Riverside Plaza, Set-up Landing zone for State OES Director Kappa, (E-102 / L-103) (1025 – 1027 – 1047 – 1235)

 ·                    122 River Lane, Water around residence, occupants needing rescued.  (Boat –1)  1-Residents was assisted from residence by boat to safety, a second resident refused to leave when we advised him that we would not be able to take the multiple family animals in the home. (1327 – 1405)

 ·                    Proctor Park, Persons trapped in house surrounded by water. (Boat #2 & Zodiac Boat / E-109 / L-103) assisted 7-persons to safety from the home.  (1342 – 1449)

 ·                    NMPD transported dispatcher to Police Station for duty (Boat #2) (1830)

 ·                    Witschey Shop-N-Save, Transported employee to store for moving inventory (1845) (boat #1)

 ·                    435 Martin Avenue, , Occupants home surrounded by water, want to be removed.  Rescued 5-to safety.  (0842-0923) (E-108 / E-109 / S-106 Boat #1, Boat #2 and Zodiac Boat).  Squad – 106 set-up as Command Post and Staging area at Maple Avenue and McEldowney Avenue Intersection.

Moving of furnishings and equipment at Ohio Street Station

 On Friday evening September 17, 2004 at 22:35 hrs, with Flood Crest Predictions of 41’, All equipment in the Ohio Street Station was ordered moved to the storage area over the SCBA Room and Lounge in the main station and to the second floor in the south building of the Ohio Street station and a work detail was dispatched.

 

14 – Personnel Assisted in moving equipment, supplies and vehicles from the station.  The detail was completed by 07:30 hrs.  Total Labor hrs = 127.10
