June Training “Moving Patients to New Heights”

June’s NMVFD Training focused on the different manners in which the departments Aerial Truck can be used to move patients or Personnel.  Whether it be the rescue of a patient from a barge on the Ohio River or from an upper or lower level, NMVFD needs to be prepared for these varying situations.

Personnel trained on how to secure patients into a stokes basket and move them from below grade levels to an area where they can then be transferred to an ambulance cot for further, more definitive care.

Personnel were also shown how to properly and safely transfer victims of potential building fires or the transfer of personnel into / onto buildings for assembly in emergency operations.
