On behalf of the New Martinsville Fire Department, we would like to thank you for your interest in the New Martinsville Fire Department. We take great pride in what we do, our equipment, and a feeling of helping others in need. The satisfaction that we receive when we accomplish the task at hand is greater than any dollar amount that we could receive. Knowing that we put the fire out, saved a life, rescued someone from the flooding waters, or just made someone rest a little easier knowing that we are here 24/7 is worth a million. It is people like you that will help our tradition carry on for years to come. Enclosed is an application for membership, Information on what the New Martinsville Fire Department expects from you as a Volunteer in the Fire Department, as well as what you can expect from us in return for your time and dedication. Once you complete your application you may mail or drop it off at the Main Fire Station located at 400 Ohio Street. You will then receive a letter in the mail, inviting you to attend a meeting with the Board of Review. This meeting is very short and informal. We will discuss with you the requirements for being a member of the Fire Department, try to answer any questions that you may have, and for us to get to know you a little better. Once you attend this meeting the Board of Review will recommend you as a new member of the fire department to the general membership, where all the members present will vote on your application. Please take a few minutes to look over the information enclosed in this packet, complete and return your application. The Board of Review meeting is normally on the First Wednesday of each month beginning at 7:00 pm. Again Thank You for your interest in the New Martinsville Fire Department, hope to see you soon.
