Rescue Engine 209, a 2006 KME on a GMC 5500 frame is a multi-purpose apparatus. Combining not only the best qualities of a rescue and pumper truck, the 4 wheel drive capabilities make the perfect platform for brush and wildland type fires. Rescue Engine 209 is generally the first vehicle to respond to most automobile accidents and any other type of incident that may require both fire suppression and rescue scenarios. As shown below, 209 carries Holmaltro Rescue Tools consisting of a spreader (jaws of life), jack, combination tool and cutter. All tools are hydraulic and are powered by a Honda engine operating the pump at a maximum of 10,500 psi. |
